The answers to these questions are best known by those who manage healthcare facilities daily. That is why the ZDOROVI National Agency, in collaboration with SWECARE as part of the Ukrainian-Swedish Initiative on Healthcare Leadership, invites healthcare facility leaders and managers to participate in a survey on their current needs, management challenges, and professional development priorities.

The purpose of the survey is to assess needs and identify priorities for the further developmentof a modern executive-level educational program for leaders in Ukraine’s healthcare system. The program will be based on:

• the real operational challenges faced by Ukrainian healthcare facilities during the war and reconstruction;
• Sweden’s strengths in sustainable healthcare systems, innovation, patient-centered care, and long-term management;
• international best practices in healthcare leadership training;
• practical transformation projects being implemented directly within the participants’ institutions.

What most needs to change in the operations of healthcare facilities today? What knowledge and management skills do leaders lack? What kind of support would truly help healthcare teams work more effectively?

We want to hear the answers directly from those who make management decisions and shape thework of the healthcare system daily.

Filling out the questionnaire takes about 25 minutes.

The results will serve as the basis for developing a new educational program in collaboration with Swedish experts. Its content will not be based on abstract concepts, but rather on the real needs and experiences of Ukrainian healthcare facility leaders and managers.

The findings will also inform the further development of cooperation projects between Swedish companies and Ukrainian healthcare facilities.

The survey includes a separate section titled “Infection Control Management in the Facility,” which will help assess managers’ level of awareness and identify keychallenges and needs of healthcare facilities in this area. The data collected will be used to develop new partnerships and joint projects between Swedish companies and Ukrainian hospitals, specifically to strengthen healthcare facilities’ capacity in infection control management.

We Already Know How Research Translates intoSolutions

ZDOROVI systematically conducts research to better understand the needs of thehealthcare system and translate data into practical solutions.

For example, the2023 Barometer study served as the basis for creating the “Doctor. Veteran”course. To date, more than 40,000 healthcare workers have completed the courseon the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) Academy platform.

The Barometer research is a comprehensive study of the state of healthcare management — uniquein Ukraine — that tracks changes in key areas, from digitalization and staffing challenges to staff mental health, patient routing, energy efficiency, andreadiness for reforms and European integration.

The results of subsequent research waves formed the basis for the “Doctor’s. Reboot” project, educational programs, workshops, and targeted procurement of equipment forhospitals.

It is yourresponses that shape the analytics relied upon by the Ministry of Health, the NHSU,international partners, donors, and institutions supporting Ukraine’shealthcare system.

This is the approach we want to continue: first, listening to the needs of the healthcaresystem — and then creating solutions that meet those needs.
