ZDOROVI Launch a New Project to Support Children, Caregivers, Healthcare and Social Workers with Funding from the German Government and the European Union
The ZDOROVI Charitable Foundation is launching a new six-month project in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to support children and their caregivers, as well as healthcare and social workers in Ukraine's Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The initiative will be implemented in healthcare facilities and child social and psychological rehabilitation centres. Through the project, ZDOROVI will strengthen the professional capacities of healthcare and social service providers, expand access to psychological support for children and their caregivers, and improve the learning environments of two educational spaces located within child rehabilitation centres in the Sumy region.
To support these activities, the Foundation will procure equipment required for educational, psychosocial and rehabilitation programmes.
The project will include:
- 15 first aid training sessions for healthcare professionals, social workers, children and their caregivers;
- 8 crisis response training sessions for healthcare professionals;
- 300 individual psychological counselling sessions;
- 100 group psychological support sessions.
Overall, the project is expected to benefit 650 children, caregivers, healthcare professionals and social workers.
«We are launching this project with a clear understanding of the needs of communities that continue to operate under the pressures of war. For ZDOROVI, it is essential not only to ensure that children and their caregivers have access to psychological support, but also to strengthen the capacities of the healthcare and social professionals who provide these services. By combining training, practical skills development and direct support to people, we aim to create sustainable solutions that will have a lasting impact on communities», said Natalia Tulinova, Founder and CEO of ZDOROVI.
The project will be implemented over six months in the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions. It focuses on strengthening the practical skills of healthcare and social professionals, supporting children and their families, and improving access to quality mental health and psychosocial support services at the community level.
This initiative represents another important step in strengthening partnerships that contribute to a more resilient healthcare system and expand access to high-quality psychosocial support for those who need it most.
The project «Supporting Children and Caregivers in the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia Regions» is carried out within the multi-donor project «Strengthening Communities in War-Affected Regions in Ukraine through Localized Action (EMPOWER)», which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with co-financing from the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
