ZDOROVI’s microgrant competition to develop healthcare services in local communities
ZDOROVI is launching a microgrant competition for community and charitable organisations working in the field of healthcare and support for vulnerable groups.
The competition is implemented by the “Right to Protection” Charitable Foundation, the “Voices of Children” Charitable Foundation, the CO CF “NAHA “ZDOROVI”, and the “League of the Strong” Civil Union.
The project is made possible through the generous support of the Government of the United States of America. The contents are the responsibility of the “National Agency for Humanitarian Aid Development “ZDOROVI” Charitable Foundation and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Government of the United States of America.
The project aims to provide comprehensive protection services to vulnerable populations affected by the war by strengthening the capacity of local civil society organizations to deliver high-quality, accessible, and timely protection services, as well as by enhancing community resilience and supporting frontline responders.
The project covers the following target regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kirovohrad, and Odesa oblasts.
Priority beneficiary groups include children, women, people facing difficult life circumstances, persons with disabilities, including their legal representatives/guardians and family members, representatives of Roma communities, internally displaced persons (including those evacuated from temporarily occupied territories), civilians affected by the war, veterans, and family members of deceased or missing military personnel.
Project duration: up to 6 months.
Project implementation start date: July 2026.
Possible implementation regions:
Target oblasts: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kirovohrad, and Odesa oblasts.
Organizations invited to apply must:
- be registered legal entities and non-profit organizations, including public and charitable organizations (non-profit codes 0032, 0036; for Lot No. 3 – 0032, 0036, 0048);
- have been officially registered for at least one year before the date of the grant competition;
- possess operational capacity to implement the project (including at least a project manager and a financial specialist);
- operate in territories under the control of the Government of Ukraine;
- have an appropriate financial management and accounting system, as well as the ability to report and undergo audits;
- have no tax debts and not be included in sanctions lists;
- demonstrate motivation for organizational development and preferably have previous project implementation experience;
- adhere to a zero-tolerance policy toward sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH);
- apply a zero-tolerance approach to misuse of funds and maintain a low-risk tolerance for fraud-related issues.
Applications from organizations registered less than one year ago may still be considered if they provide sufficient justification of organizational capacity and budget relevance under the general competition framework.

How to participate in the competition?

The participant application must be submitted via a Google Form. The following documents must обязательно be attached:

For projects with a budget of up to USD 50,000 — a project concept note must be submitted.

For projects with a budget of up to USD 25,000 — a full application form and project budget must be submitted.

2. Project budget in Excel format (Annex 2) — required for full application submissions.

3. Organization registration documents in PDF format, including:

Extract from the Unified State Register (EDR)

Copy of the State Tax Service decision confirming inclusion in the Register of Non-Profit Organizations

Charter / Regulations

Copy of the organization meeting protocol indicating the authorized signatory

CVs of key team members.

Selection criteria
The Selection Committee evaluates project applications and selects winners based on the following criteria:
  1. Quality of the project proposal and alignment with project objectives – effectiveness of the proposed approaches to addressing the identified problem, expected impact, and alignment with the Donor’s thematic and strategic priorities – 30 points.
  2. Target group orientation – relevance of the proposed services to beneficiaries’ identified needs, justification and feasibility of the target audience coverage, as well as cost-efficiency considering the cost per beneficiary – 25 points.
  3. Budget alignment with project activities – logical justification and economic soundness of budget calculations in compliance with the principle of “value for money and relevance” – 20 points.
  4. Institutional capacity of the organization – experience, team qualifications, management procedures, financial reporting, and control mechanisms – 15 points.
  5. Innovation potential – use of new methods, scalability potential, or integration into larger programs/policies – 10 points.
All applicants of the microgrant competition will receive a response regarding their further participation in the competition. In case of rejection, the organizers reserve the right not to provide explanations regarding the reasons for refusal.

  • Payment for consultancy services related to training sessions and medical services.
  • Educational and awareness-raising activities for the population and healthcare professionals.
  • Organization of mobile medical services.
  • Home-based care support for palliative, low-mobility patients, and people requiring external care.
  • Provision of rehabilitation services in communities.
  • Distribution of care and hygiene supplies to community residents.
  • Procurement of basic medical equipment for rural health points and feldsher stations.
  • Procurement of rehabilitation and assistive devices.
  • Support for palliative care services.
  • Logistics and transportation for service delivery.
USD 50,000 (UAH 2,225,000)
Minimum coverage: 450 unique beneficiaries.
Project proposals should be submitted using the following form:
List of supported activities:
  • Payment for consultancy services related to training sessions and medical services.
  • Training programs for healthcare professionals.
  • Organization of specialized mobile medical services.
  • Renovation and equipment of feldsher points (FAPs) in villages and remote settlements.
  • Logistics and transportation for service delivery.
  • Educational and awareness-raising activities for the population.
  • Home-based care support for palliative, low-mobility patients, and people requiring external care.
  • Provision of rehabilitation services in communities.
  • Distribution of care and hygiene supplies to community residents.
  • Procurement of rehabilitation and assistive devices (e.g., walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, shower and toilet chairs, etc.) for community residents.
  • Provision of basic medical self-monitoring equipment for patients.
Examples of supported activities
Educational and training activities for healthcare professionals:
  • Certified trainings for all levels of medical personnel: emergency care trainings (BLS, ILS, ITLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.); infection prevention and control trainings; trainings on diagnosis and treatment of common non-communicable diseases; sexual and reproductive health trainings; POCUS ultrasound trainings; seminars on managing patients requiring rehabilitation support.
  • Other educational activities in line with Continuing Professional Development (CPD/BPR) requirements.
Educational activities for communities and caregivers:
  • First aid trainings for the population.
  • Trainings for families and caregivers on home-based care and rehabilitation.
  • Public health awareness activities (including infant feeding and complementary feeding education).
Mobile medical services and home care:
  • Mobile medical teams.
  • Home visits by nurses/feldshers: blood pressure, glucose, oxygen saturation monitoring; portable ECG examinations.
  • Home care services for patients.
  • Medication adherence monitoring.
Rehabilitation services:
  • Community-based rehabilitation support in centers, rehabilitation points, rooms, and at home: physical therapy (mobility and walking recovery); occupational therapy (self-care skills recovery); speech therapy.
  • Rehabilitation for patients after stroke, traumatic brain injury, and musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Behavioral and developmental interventions for children.
  • Hearing and speech rehabilitation, work with sign language educators, lip-reading training.
  • Training for relatives/caregivers on care specifics.
Palliative care:
  • Establishment or strengthening of palliative care services at home, in geriatric facilities, residential institutions, and IDP shelters.
  • Visits by palliative care nurses.
  • Psychological support for patients and their families.
  • Provision of anti-bedsores products and consumables.
  • Training for relatives in palliative patient care.
Equipment and technical support for FAPs and health points:
  • Procurement of basic medical equipment: blood pressure monitors, glucometers with test strips, pulse oximeters, stethoscopes, rapid diagnostic tests.
  • Equipment for rural FAPs and health points: examination couches, gynecological chairs, privacy screens, refrigerators for vaccines/medicines, portable charging stations and heaters.
  • Procurement of equipment for patient self-monitoring.
  • Procurement of individual medication dispensers.
Mobility and logistics:
  • Procurement of transport for healthcare workers: bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters.
Rehabilitation and care aids:
  • Provision of assistive devices: walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, shower and toilet chairs.
  • Assistive devices for people with disabilities.
  • Minor accessibility adaptations: ramps, handrails, anti-slip coverings.
Support for mothers of newborns:
  • Lactation consultant services (offline and online).
  • Training for maternity hospital staff.
  • Provision of infant formula to mothers or facilities (if needed).
  • Hygiene kits for newborns.
  • Coverage of screening services for pregnant women not covered by the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU).
Provision of consumables and hygiene supplies:
  • Personal hygiene items: adult diapers, urological pads, absorbent underpads.
  • Consumables for care and treatment.
Deadlines
  • By May 20, 2026 (09:00) – submission of concept notes.
  • By May 27, 2026 (09:00) – submission of application forms.
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • One organization may submit only one project.
  • The same project cannot be submitted through different partners.
  • Projects must combine service delivery with practical solutions for beneficiaries.
